Honestly speaking, the film is very difficult to perceive. Already at the first moments you can feel the master's hand: abstractionism and symbolism in the images of the main character and dead birds; a horse that falls in the grass. All this suggests that there will be something large-scale, something "internally" large-scale. What I mean by these words is that obviously the film reveals a person more than events. Those who think that the author's work is invisible is, in my opinion, very mistaken, because the work of Lars von Trier is most clearly seen here.
